BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, rapper, singer/songwriter, and producer Margaux Erotica grew up in a very creative household. She studied music under the guidance of her mother by playing piano, harp, and violin, while singing in choirs around the city. She also studied dance by taking classes in ballet and jazz at local studios. While most of her art studies were decided by her mother, Margaux Erotica often branched out into other creative outlets on her own. Learning to bake from her father, painting and drawing in art classes at school, and practicing make up looks from books and online videos, at young age she exactly what she wanted and enjoyed.

While working as a freelance makeup artist around the city, she decided to teach herself music production. In 2017, she started to work on her first self-produced project “Trust In Me.” The EP was released March of 2018 and had influences of dark alternative pop and R&B sounds mixed with alluring vocals and rap verses.

After it’s release, she started to receive buzz around the city for her music through both blogs and performing on stages such as: A3C, SXSW, Carefreeblack Girl, Not My First Rodeo, RNBae and more! Off this attention, she began to build her brand by utilizing all of her talents and passions. She even started to throw her own shows and events. Her first event “Girl Camp” in Atlanta at Peter Street Station sold over 100 tickets where she also sold out of her homemade s’mores pops, introducing her candy making and baking talents.

In 2020, she took a more bright and upbeat approach and released her most popular track “Cocky,” a confidently self-produced rap pop song. A month later, she released her first music video for the song which helped it gain over 10,000 streams on Spotify alone. After this release, her brand was solidified and she began to branch out by posting her make up looks, baking and cooking videos, as well as her paintings and drawings. She also began selling merchandise online.

In late 2020, after releasing a few more singles, she started to promote her “XOXO, Margaux” EP. As part of her promotion, she launched a limited-edition handmade candle line and sold over half of her inventory on the first day of sales. All of this helped Margaux Erotica receive more recognition not only as a musician but as a brand.

She has since appeared in music videos with artists such as Rico Nasty and FKA Twigs. In 2021 she was also featured in the campaign for Polaroid’s Keith Haring Foundation Camera.

While continuing to organically build and grow her fanbase by using her gifts and passions, Margaux Erotica spreads the message of self-love and bold expression throughout her community. Hoping to help others find their inner pink by sparking a lasting feeling through her words and detailed creativity, one can only wonder what she’ll do next!
